onwards

The last ship of the 2009 season left Skagway last night at 9pm. It is a tradition to go down to the dock and "moon the last ship." Not everyone actually moons the ship, but everyone screams and chases the ship all the way to the end of the pier waving and flailing.

The cruisers love it too! They sang "Na na na, hey hey hey-Goodbye" and chanted "Skagway! Skagway." We were all smiles.

And now it is time to pack for Juneau. I'm planning on coming back home to Skagway at least once a week. I think I'm just going to pack all my comfy warm clothes and ALL my knitting and yarn. I wish sometimes that I could have more time to relax in this little town, but I'm excited to experience "the big city."

Better get to packing...
